Daryl Knox

Daryl Knox is a native of Kentucky. He always wanted to be closer to the ocean and in 1983, he moved to Charleston, South Carolina. Daryl studies drawing and painting at Northern Kentucky University and printmaking at Western Kentucky University. He has been a full-time artist since 1986. His award winning work has been exhibited in juried shows throughout the Southeast. His work is also in private collections in the United States and Canada.  

"My paintings come from a need to articulate the quiet beauty of the Lowcountry of South Carolina. I paint landscapes which are relatively undisturbed by man, scenes that to me are compelling in their austerity. I think that my paintings reveal more about me and how I view the marshes and creeks than any specific place that I paint. I am perpetually awed by the colors, textures, and patterns that exist in nature."
