Marcell Easter

Marcell Easter is a self taught artist. With academic degrees in accounting and international business, he spent many years working in corporate finance. He had always drawn and painted as a relaxing and rewarding sideline. A native of the Carolinas, he moved back to Charleston with his family in 2005. Returning to the city where he attended the College of Charleston gave him the perfect opportunity to move his painting to the forefront. Working in watercolor can be a challenging but the results of worth the effort. He paints in a realistic style, sometimes taking on the appearance of photograph. Marcell paints a variety of subjects including figures, portraits, architecture, and landscapes. Marcell likes to capture moments of movement in his paintings. The fluidity of watercolor translates into a sense of movement in the images. Primarily the paintings are presented without glass. The watercolor paper is attached to a matt board or a wood board for support. The final painting is covered with a glaze of acrylic to protect the painting itself. The result is a stunning presentation of the vibrancy of the watercolor paintings.
